Let me start by telling you about some of my new favorite meals.
First....breakfast...because it's the most important meal of the day! Why you ask?
- Breakfast gives us nutrition and substance
- Breakfast jump starts our metabolism and gets us ready for the rest of the day. People who skip breakfast are known to nibble more or eat larger portions throughout the day.
- Improves your mood....come on....don't tell me you don't get 'hangry'...that's angry when you're hungry. Who wants to start the day off like that?
Just top with your favorite fruit and spoon away!! |
Veggies mixed with EVOO and veggies spices. 20-30 minutes in the over at 375. |
Okay...enough about food...onto tonight`s run! I decided after reading Heather`s blog that I should incorporate a bit of speed work into my runs as well. After a very sore knee on Sunday/Monday, I was weary for tonight`s run. I decided on a short run at faster than 10k race pace. I ended up doing just over 3.5k at a 5:45k...ending the last kilometer at 5:25. No knee pain but will roll and stretch later to be safe! Tonight's weather was overcast but SUPER humid and sticky!
Tomorrow night will be a run with K. We are moving up in running time by 30 seconds and will let you know how it goes. Friday night will be an 8k run and then Sunday a 10k. I`m going to drop the mileage every 2nd week to 10k and see if I can`t keep these legs fresh and injury free for the 1/2!!!
Have a great Wednesday night and thanks for stopping by!
I am not missing the humidity! I snack on those shreddies while I watch Coronation Street. :D
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get by with something as simple as cereal for breakfast! I'd have to eat half a box of it.
ReplyDeleteThose veggies look delicious! I had a banana split for supper tonight... LOL
How much longer til your half? I forget when it is...
The 1/2 is the 14th of September. Hope your knee is letting you do a bit of running!!!
DeleteWow, those veggies look amazing! Love all the bright colours :)
ReplyDeleteGood job on your speed work - this humidity makes it so difficult!
Also, Hello! Always nice to find another east coast running blog!
Hi Janet....nice to hear from you! Yes....we've been experiencing crazy humidity this summer. I'm fairly lucky as my body reacts well in the heat...short distances anyways.
