Sprint Triathlon Countdown is ON!

The sprint triathlon is T minus 3 sleeps...less than 96 hours!  Eeeeeek....the nerves are setting in.  I may not have prepared physically in proper form for this race, but I am making sure I am mentally prepared!  I am asking tons of questions to those who have done them before, and I am making checklist after checklist.  Every time I check a different list on the internet I add something more to mine.  I want to be prepared.  Right now I am so thankful for any and every blogger who took the time to blog step by step of their triathlon experience!
I have since learned that ipods on the run
are not allowed.
My mom is coming in for moral support.  J has to work and I wanted a familiar face at the finish line as I crawl across (I really hope not!).  She won't be able to see me on the bike due to security concerns, but she can see me swim, in my transitions, and when I finish the run.  The weather is actually looking nice for the day of the race (for the whole weekend actually) and that makes me happy.  Biking in the rain would have sucked!!!  Hopefully she'll be able to grab some pictures in the different transitions.

With the triathlon close, and with my lack of training thus far, I've been putting in 6am swims.  That means up and out of the house by 5:40 at the latest...which also means no breakfast.  Luckily, there is a cafe in the same building that I work that makes me scrambled eggs and bacon when I get there. :-)

In other news, the TTP running group continues to build.  We have over 240 members now with beginners joining weekly.  I am so proud/excited of how supportive the group is with all members, but especially new runners who may be timid to try.  We have built a little community for sure.

I am super excited to be partnering with Joanne and her yoga studio, KAY Yoga and Wellness, to do a run/yoga class starting June 9th.  For 4 Mondays, I will lead a 5k run, returning to the yoga studio where she will lead a restorative 30 minute yoga class.  I know many of us finish a run and don't do any stretching afterwards...this will force me too.  I think a few of the TTP members are going to participate as well and make it a group thing. Joanne is a teacher by trade, but found it an uncertain career (especially here in NS) and so she followed her other passion and will open her own studio June 9th.  She beams with excitement in having found that 'thing' that she believes in and it shows in all the hard work she is doing to ready herself!!!  Stay tuned for more pictures of her beautiful studio as they become available.

Until the weekend, and my triathlon update, have yourselves an amazing weekend.  Enjoy the nice weather (if you are having it) and push your limits!!!

  1. I can't remember if I tried to comment this morning or not (must have been pre-coffee!) but GOOD LUCK! You've totally got this. Unfortunately I had to pull out due to some neck issues, but I'm hoping to be there to cheer everyone on :)
