New Balance Review & the TTP gain confidence

I can't believe it....I've been wearing my new sneakers for a few runs now and have not done a product review yet.  Shame on me!  Let me introduce you to my new go-to running sneaker....New Balance RC1400's.
If you have ready some of my prior New Balance posts, you know I was/am in love with Saucony.  Don't get me wrong...I still love my Kinvara's...and switch them up on a regular basis.  It's just that these fit me better across the toe box.  They are also a size 7...yes...that's right...that is a full size larger than my normal everyday shoe!

Off the New Balance website, here are the features of the New Balance Glow in the Dark 1400.

Features

  • 10mm drop: due to variances created during the development and manufacturing processes, all references to 10mm drop are approximate
  • Glow in the dark material application
  • No sew welded seams
  • Synthetic/Mesh upper
  • Lightweight at 201 grams

My thoughts?  I love how it fits my foot, it hugs my ankle and toe box just right.  It's lightweight and I don't even realize it's on my foot.  I was a little worried because the heel to toe drop is a little bit more than my Kinvara's but it hasn't been a problem.  I think the lightness of the shoe still makes it easy for me to maintain my forefront running gait and feels like a minimalist shoe on my foot.
And the color?  Well come on....who can resist a bright show?  It makes you go faster you know.
Thanks to Aerobics First for fitting me properly and finding just the right sneaker for me!!!

We have been really fortunate these past few days that the temperatures have been above zero.  That makes for some amazing evening runs where I feel like I could go forever.  Tonight was one of those nights.  The TTP'ers took 15 seconds off their per kilometer pace....that makes me so happy.  It was a bit of a speedier run than we might usually have done...but the members stepped it up!!!  And with that, they are building confidence and seeing how far they have dome in 8 weeks!!! This summer is going to be a running blast!!!

  1. Glad you like them! I think I'm going to have to make my way to A1 to get a new pair of shoes pretty soon...

It's taking me a while to get back into the swing of things this year so it's nice to catch up on blogs :) Hope you're doing well!

  2. I am a Nike lady with an emotional attachment to my Free Runs, but they are awesome looking shoes! If I can ever "break-up" with my Free Runs, I will check them out! :-)

    1. I've never been able to run in Nike...they are so bulky on my feet. Once you get attached to a shoe...it's like a relationship...I feel like I'm cheating on my Saucony's. LOL

  3. Ooh, new shoes are the best!! Sometimes I wish I weren't so loyal to my shoes because I'd try more brands, but they're just so expensive to try and not like. I'll probably try these on anyway at some point, because I love how you describe the feel!

    1. We are so fortunate that we have a store that guarantees fit. If you wear them running 3-4 times and they don't feel right...you can take them back...no questions asked!
