Yoga kicked my butt!

Happy Hump Day!!!

After going to my osteopath yesterday, I was encouraged to do a little bit of cross training to strengthen my quads and glutes.  Tonight when I got home, I thought I'd search You-Tube for a runners related yoga video.  I clicked on one of the first I found....and I hit the jackpot!!!

First though....this is what happens when I sit on the floor to stretch at any time!!!

This 34 minute video just kicked my butt!

It had everything....lunges, IT band stretches, quad stretches, hamstring stretches....you name it for runners...it had it.  By the time I got to the hamstring stretches, my legs were barely REALLY shaking.  I tried to take a video, but it didn't come out.

I have done hot yoga in the past and really loved it.  It forced me to relax and calm down after a long day at the office.  I'm a person who is always 'go-go-go' so finding way to force me to relax is important.  Today, as I was doing the final calming pose (and Indy was walking over me) I remembered why I loved it.  I intend to repeat this video often!!!  Realizing how in-flexible I am makes me miss my gymnastic days for sure!! Hey Swift Fox.....remember over splits???

I'm still finalizing my October goals and plan on posting them on the weekend.

Thanks for stopping by mid-week.  Remember that tomorrow brings on new challenges....hit them head on with a smile!!!

  2. Over splits. Ugh. Definitely forgot about those for a while!

I've been really loving yoga lately, too. I'm not sure if you're aware, but it's Yoga Week starting today so lots of studios around the city are having all/most classes for $5 :) http://www.thecoast.ca/halifax/YogaWeek2013/Page

  3. I miss being able to do oversplits! Now, I can hardly do a straddle sit! LOL

I'm going to try out that yoga video. Looks like something I should do too.

I'm making a goals list right now!
