Kinvara 7 - My Dream Shattered

Race season is upon us which means I needed to upgrade my sneakers.  Off to the best shoe fitter in Halifax, Nova Scotia....Mr. Luke MacDonald at Aerobics First!
yes...it was a 2 shoe type of day.
In Luke's hand is the New Balance Foam Zante to replace the ones I have been wearing.  In my hand is the new Kinvara 7!  Look how pretty both of these are!  I did not get the Kinvara 6, despite having the 3,4, and 5 versions.  The version 6 narrowed it's toe box and that didn't interest me which is what lead me to the New Balance.  I still own my Kinvara 3's...I can't seem to part with them even though they are still covered with dye from the Run or Dye I did 3 years ago.  When I saw the look of the 7's...I was super excited and contacted Luke as soon as I knew they were out.
It makes me so happy that Luke understands how important this is to my racing!
The description of the Kinvara 7 is:
SHOE INFO

Kinvara 7

Heel Drop

So last night was the night!  The TTP were going running and I intended on wearing my new Kinvara's!  It was a run starting at dusk...and I wanted to be seen so I also added my New Balance reflective jacket that literally glows!
The gal shooting this kept making me laugh!
Off we set for an easy 5k around the 'hood'.  3km in, I knew I had a problem...my right arch was starting to bother me...not shooting pain...just a dull ache.  By 4km, I could tell I was adjusting my stride and foot placement to ease the discomfort in my right foot.  DARN IT!!!  I had such high hopes that my feet would love this new version....but alas my dreams shattered and my right foot rejected them.  I'm thinking that I may have gotten use to the 6.4mm heel drop on the NB Zante and maybe the 4mm drop of the Kinvara was too much.  Either way, I'll go back to Aerobics First with my shoe box in tow as I sheepishly saunter up to the register and ask to return them.  Luckily, the store does have a no-fit return policy so I won't have a problem.  I'm already looking at what else I can buy...maybe a new sports bra!  Speaking of which....here is a link from a live video that Runner's World did on proper bra fit.

So that's it...my dreams have shattered on returning to the Kinvara line at this time!  Have you ever been so excited for a shoe but it just didn't work out?
