Hump Day Run & Hot Day Activities

Happy hump day!

I took yesterday off work and could not have asked for a better day.  It was sunny and HOT!  And yes...I used caps for effect.  With the humidity, it was measuring 35 degrees!  By 7pm, it was hotter in my house than it was outside.  Sooooo, what do you do in heat like that?  You go for ice cream....yummy moonmist to be exact!!  Then you play a low-key game of Domination.
Unfortunately I lost!
I was also surprised by a new running tank....thanks J!!!  I love my running clothes!!!!
Tonight was a scheduled 7.2k (okay...really it was supposed to be last night).  It was lightly raining when I started and I decided to stick to the payment.  Both races on the weekend are on this type of surface and I wanted to be ready.  I pushed it a bit tonight and was having a great run....so great that I didn't even realize I didn't have my music on until the turnaround point.  LOL  Then it happened, every runner's nightmare, my garmin died.  Yep...low battery beep...and then gone.  DARN!    I continued on, knowing the distance I needed to do...but I have no idea what type of pace I had.  The first half was around 5:45...but I'm pretty sure I slipped a bit in the second part.  Boooo!

Heather and I are doing the Epic Canadian on Saturday, followed by the Bedford 5k on Sunday.  Both are handing out bling...YAY!  Now I just have to figure out if I'm going to run fast or conservative races.

Questions for you:
1.  What flavour of ice cream is your favorite?
2.  Have you ever done back to back races?

Hope you're enjoying your evening tea/coffee as much as I am!

  1. Hm. Favorite ice cream... they used to make peanut butter cookie dough (they had it at Rissers) and I loved it. I haven't found any other really good peanutbutter ice cream since. Other than that, I'd have to say chapmans Neapolitan frozen yogurt. I ate buckets of that when I was pregnant!

No, no back to back races yet... but I'm sure it'll happen, especially if I find some that have medals.

My evening will consist of folding laundry (about 3 loads)and tv.
