I apologize as I haven't posted in a while...I swear I'm not ignoring you....I just haven't felt I've had much to say.
I've been running pretty regularly...let' recap since Thursday of last week....
- Saturday 5k with the group. This run was supposed to be 7k but my ITB started to act up. My own fault...I haven't been rolling or stretching like I should.
- Sunday 3.75k with the beginner group. Good run with 3 new faces.....this makes me so happy!
- Monday - plank/stretching - no running
- Today - 3.5k at lunchtime solo with a 5.40 pace and then 3.75k tonight with the beginner group. Tonight had very low temperatures and I REALLY did not want to run. I even posted on the site asking if people were still up for it. Sure enough, they were. 10 members showed up to run....they are troopers!!!!
This is what I came home to tonight.....
I have decided...in my head anyways...that I'm going to do
the Shearwater Sprint Triathlon on June 1st.
This creates lots of questions in my head such as...how are my legs
going to feel after I get off the bike to run....how is my butt going to
feel? I rode 16km this summer with
Heather and I hurt in places I shouldn't for 2 days. LOL All
the fears from my first road race are surfacing again...but I got through
that...and I'll get through this and learn lots for the next one. With this goal in mind, this is what my
living room looks like on a regular basis...what doesn't yours look like this
too???
If you come visit me, don't be surprised to see this stuff
laying around...If I see it, then I HAVE to use it!!!
I've heard that spin class is my next step....do any of you
do spin classes...I've heard crazy things about them!
Thanks for stopping by...tomorrow is another day in the
pool...gotta get that time down if I want to feel even 1/2 successful at this
Tri! Hope you are all pushing your
limits this week and stepping outside your comfort zone!!!!
I can't WAIT to follow you through this!! I'm super excited for you! I think the swimming part would be my downfall. What are the distances for a sprint tri? (i know, I could google it...)
ReplyDeleteThe sprint distances are 750m swim, 20k bike, and a 5k run. There is also a tri-a-tri option that is 300m swim, 10k bike, and 3k run. I can do the 750m swim...it's the 20k bike and then immediately running 5k that scares me. LOL
ReplyDeletelmao YES my home workout area looks like that too!
ReplyDeleteMy living room looks like that except my yoga mat is pink & my kettle bell is grey!
ReplyDeleteI used to do spin all the time at good life! I loved it! You got this girl :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Samantha...spin class scares me. And I think my butt hurts from swimming!
DeleteCongrats on training for a tri!! I've done a couple duathlons and coming off the bike, my legs feel tight + tired but about .50 into the run and they start to loosen up after that. Throw a couple brick workouts in and you'll rock it.
ReplyDeleteOh....this is good news as I'm worried they'll give out. I'm going to have to lookup brick workouts...I don't know what they are. Thanks J!!!
