On my home page, I've added 2 additional menu options; the first one is called Medal/Bib Hangers. These are hangers that I've been making for the running group and for a blogging friend (SC Runs). If you'd like one, you can leave a comment on the page and we can work out a design for you. The 2nd is called Motivation. These are motivational posters that I've gathered over the last year that I can relate to and that get me pumped to run or work out. I'd love it if you'd leave me some of your motivational phrases so that I can add them and grow the page.
Okay..Okay....so here is the exciting news!!!! Here in NS, we have a woman's only race that goes in June that gathers over 2500 woman for a 5k run. There are fantastic water stations, a chocolate station, and even a hug station with hunky fire fighters. Yes ladies...you heard right!!! The race has already sold out for 2014!
I am honored to have been asked to be an Ambassador for this race. I cannot begin to describe the excitement that permeates the starting line when everyone is waiting for the go signal. Last year there was a tropical storm the day of the race and it didn't stop the woman from showing up and running. Let me tell you, whoever said we were the weaker sex had it ALL wrong!!! On race day, there will be many TTP toeing the line and sharing in this incredible experience.
On top of that, I found out today that I will also be presenting to some of the woman at 2 workshops that are held before the race. I am super excited to present "Overcoming Fear and Achieving your Goals" and to give these ladies tools to use to help them achieve anything they put their minds to. An hour long interactive presentation will leave them with an action plan to help them achieve a goal in the next 90 days. Super exciting!!!! I've been working on a motivational video to present at the end and will share with each of you in the near future.
I also took a trip to the library today after Skinny Chick suggested I do some brick workouts to help with my tri training. I'm such a newbie and had to google what that even meant. LOL This means I have lots of reading to do. Someone even commented the other day that I've gone over to the dark side. LOL
That's it for now....but stay tuned as there are some more exciting things on the horizon that I hope to share with you soon. Until then....remember that it takes only 20 seconds of insane courage to change your life.
your soul sisters race sounds fun AND yummy!!! we need one of these in Calgary! I look forward to your updates!
ReplyDeleteYou totally need one of these races in Calgary....it is so much fun...and the bling sparks and spins!!!
DeleteThose are some big announcements! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erin!
DeleteWow what an exciting time! The race sounds like a lot of fun and I agree with Tina, we need one of those in Calgary. I'm also training for my first tri this summer and for some reason it seems slightly more scary then when I started running, probably because there is risk of drowning, lol. Good call on the library books, I'll have to seek some out.
ReplyDeleteDo you feel like you might be slightly nuts to be trying a Tri? That's how I feel...I find myself scratching my head at it some days! Can't wait to follow your training.
DeleteSole Sisters looks like one fun race! I am no where near being ready for a triathlon! Nice work on the bib hangers too!
