Inaugural Run for TTP

Well folks...today was the day...the first group run for the TTP (Timberlea Tundra Pounders).  I have to admit I was a bit nervous.  I created the group thinking there would be a handful of people interested...and we now have 65 members!  That's right...65.  Is it selfish of me to want to hit the 100 mark?  LOL  Last night I made a list of the members coming to the runs and their related experience...I want to try and help each and every one of the members accomplish a goal. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone accomplish something they are aiming for!!! (It's the gymnastics coach in me coming out again).

I showed up 15 minutes early and there were already runners waiting....that excited me to no end!!!!  People kept arriving...literally coming out of the bushes.  LOL
Even 4-legged friends joined us!
The group of ladies (no men on today's run) were so positive and excited...making me smile ear to ear.  We had many different levels join us today and I was very thankful when Heather (second from the right, bottom row) volunteered to lead a long run (about 5-6).  I kept to the back of the pack with the run / walkers which was great for my knee.  It also meant I got to chat with a couple members and find out their experience and where they wanted their journey's to go!  This is my first time running with a group and I must say that knowing others were running as well kept me motivated...much like a race does!!

I'm such a geek as I even made up brochures to hand out at the end in case the current members knew others that might want to participate.

Tomorrow is run #2...with some of the same members as today...and some new ones.  Tomorrow's weather calls for periods of rain...but no matter...we aren't sugar...we won't melt.  Hehe.

Stayed tuned as another picture will be taken tomorrow!

    1. Janet...you are welcome to come join anytime. I'm loving the fact that there are so many new-to-running or just getting back in the game runners. We all need a little push now and then!!!
